Sun Online reports that Tottenham is closely monitoring former Chelsea wonderkid Dominic Solanke.
In impressive form for Bournemouth, Dominic Solanke has netted 12 goals in 18 Premier League games, catching the attention of clubs like Tottenham.
Dominic Solanke’s stellar performance has been pivotal in Bournemouth’s resurgence, contributing to seven wins in their last nine games after a challenging start to the season.
Given his remarkable resurgence, it’s unsurprising that Ange Postecoglou’s side is closely monitoring the 26-year-old Dominic Solanke, once hailed as the ‘next Didier Drogba’ during his time at Stamford Bridge.
“Spurs want to sign a striker in the summer,” reads the Sun’s report. “The club hasn’t replaced Harry Kane so recruiting a new forward is a big priority, and Solanke is someone they are closely monitoring.
“They’ve sent scouts to watch him already several times this season, and they will continue to track him into the New Year.
“He ticks a lot of boxes for Spurs, and Bournemouth know if he carries on showing the kind of form he is then they will struggle to stop other clubs from sniffing around him. They are bracing themselves for bids.”
Former Spurs player wants Solanke
Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara expresses belief that Dominic Solanke would be an excellent addition to Ange Postecoglou’s squad. He also conveys disappointment that the potential acquisition might have to wait until January.
“I just don’t see how Bournemouth can let him go [in January],” he said on talkSPORT. “They were tipped to go down this season and then all of a sudden, they’ve found some great form and are playing well.
“Look, at the end of the season, if someone comes in for £80 to £90 million, then they’ll let him go and rebuild from there, buying a couple of decent players.
“But I can’t see how they’d let him go [in January]. I’d love him to be at Tottenham. I look at him and think he’s perfect for how we want to play.”
